I Ride My Own White Horse ...

Happy New Years ....

No I am not confused! I know that tomorrow is August 1st and not January 1st, but for me tomorrow starts a new year. Beginnings come when you want them to happen. When you want to have a fresh start. For me, beginnings are a decision.

So .. why now? My new year begins tomorrow as I have just returned from two annual meetings on behalf of clients. Much of my time throughout the year is focused on preparing for these events and now for 2008 they are over. Now to work on the 2009 meetings!

But it is also a new beginning for JulNet. Or at least a heading in a new direction ... not necessarily different, just new. New office, new clients, new opportunities, new sense of focus!

Early Morning ...

I think that this is becoming my favorite part of the day ...  really early!  As I am sitting in my office it is very quiet, all but the sounds of the birds outside my window.  Slowly I can watch the sun rise over the hill from across the way.  Gradually the number of cars driving by increases as the day wakes up.

I sit at my computer and catch up with the world and what happened while I was asleep.  Today I learned of the birth of a new baby and the success of our little league time.  All good news for a change ...  Tomorrow the news might be different, we may not want to celebrate as we do today.  But that is how life works.

Knowing that some days are filled with joy, some with sorrow ... we learned to live with them both.

Today I say goodbye to someone I have grown to love and see as my own.  It will be difficult, but only for a short time.  It's funny how you can love someone so much who is not family ... but only considered to be a friend.  How those ties at times seem even stronger then those of blood.

Today will be a good day ...

Coming back to MY life ....

So ... I haven't been here for awhile. It's that time of year! You know how accountants loose all control of their lives during tax season? Well that is the same for me during meeting season. Today is my last day before I leave for 2 big annual events. I think I am ready ... but not completely sure. At this point it is too late!

For the last two months all I have done is prepared for these meetings. Not to say that I have been working on them before, because I have. Almost a year and a half. This year I did better at planning when things should happen, but still lost the details in the end. And again as I have done every year, I sit here and tell myself, "next year will be better." And it will!

I've missed playing ... I've missed my camera ... I've missed writing ... SO I am coming back to MY life once again.
